Blogger and stylist Vydia Rishie of The VR Verdict is the gorgeous face of our Hearts will Race Spring Racing collection for 2016. We took five with Vydia to chat about her top races tips, the key fashion trends for SS16 and what a day on the track looks like for her.
Why did you want to collaborate with Wittner for Spring Racing SS16?
Shoes and I go hand in hand and the Spring Racing season has to be one of my favourite times of the year (especially being from Melbourne), so I love that Wittner’s released a new collection of must-have shoes that are perfect both style and comfort-wise for the races. It’s great to see some of my favourite trends right now being incorporated in footwear, and the designers have nailed the spring racing edit with the perfect blush, laser cut and feminine vibe.
Where do you start when planning your Spring Racing outfits, where do you gather inspiration?
I always start with my dress, and then millinery to complement/balance, and finally shoes to tie the whole look together. It’s all in the details, so I plan my outfit to a tee when it comes to Spring Racing.
What does the morning of the races look like for you, take us through how you prepare?
Hair and make-up in the morning and then a very long uber trip to Flemington (typical Melbourne traffic).
Which is your favourite Spring Racing day and why?
I have a special love for Stakes day. It usually falls a day or two off my birthday (or sometimes on my birthday), so it’s great to party with everyone who’s still made it through the week and also see some non-industry friends who love the relaxed feel of Stakes Day.
Where will we find you after a day at the races?
Typically at one of my friends bars or restaurants, continuing the party.
Do you have any racing fashion do’s or don’ts?
I don’t necessarily have any dont’s but my do is definitely to wear comfy shoes (preferably from my Wittner edit!)
Which 3 shoes are your picks of the Wittner SS16 collection and why?
I love my Teagan heels in blush, Roswell mules in black and Tomas pumps in every colour – they are the best.
What’s next for Vydia and the VR Verdict?
A bit of travel and lots more styling. And hopefully taking time off to be with friends and family more.
