AW16 has arrived. Be transformed by a bold new collection where tough luxe fashion takes centre stage. Read on to sneak a peek behind the scenes of our Walk this Way collection for AW16 with our gorgeous model Annabella Barber and stylist extraordinaire Charlotte Stokes!

Arabella for Wittner

Meet the face of Wittner for AW16, Annabella Barber. This blonde babe perfectly embodies the tough luxe look of our Walk this Way campaign. A combination of edgy and feminine, Annabella  exudes a confident, laid-back cool – which is what AW16 is all about!

How would you describe your personal style?
I’m all about the 90’s. Silk slip dresses, boots, leather jacket, lots of denim, all in the tone of black, white or indigo.

What is your favourite autumn/winter trend for the upcoming season?
I’m not a huge trend follower. I think its important to rock what makes you feel the most comfortable and confident no matter what the season. I also like to purchase pieces that are classic and don’t date.

What song/band is your current musical obsession?
The Avener

Are you a flats or heels girl?
I’m definitely a boot girl.

Wittner Alec Boot

What are your top tips for achieving the perfect model-off-duty look?
You need to find the perfect basics. I look for a great black boot, black skinny jeans, t-shirt, belt and an amazing leather jacket.

What is your favourite city in the world?
New York

Your number 1 spot to take visitors to in Australia?
The beach, anywhere…

The Wittner AW16 campaign is all about being confident, comfortable and walking your own way. What gives you confidence?
Listening to a great tune through my headphones whilst walking down the street, wearing my favourite boots! Sun shining and a smile on my face, imagining I’m in a video clip.

Our incredibly talented stylist for the Walk this Way campaign was Charlotte Stokes, who chose sexy, chic clothing in monochromatic tones with pops of dark cherry to complement our new season boots, heels and flats. Charlotte’s top tip for taking on the tough luxe trend? Don’t overdo it! Read on for more…

What can we expect to see in terms of fashion and street style this Autumn/Winter?

Autumn/Winter has toughened up from the feminine 70’s silhouettes of spring/summer with tough details like studs, lace ups and zippers. Cool and effortlessly sexy with a strong rock and roll influence.

This season, our shoes are bold statement pieces embellished with striking studs, laces and killer thigh high boots. What should we style these shoes with?
These statement styles speak for themselves so there is no need to go over-the-top with styling. Stick to great tailoring and a mix of strong textures – leather, silk and knitwear. These textures mixed together keep this monochromatic colour palette interesting. The must-have pieces are a long sleeve mini dress, leather pants, a blanket coat and a thick belt to cinch in the waist.

What are the 3 most versatile pieces from this collection?
The Geraldine boot – A statement piece that will instantly keep you on trend for Autumn Winter. Throw them over jeans for day and with a mini dress for night.
The Kaiden brogue – A winter staple that you will wear every day
The Reece heel – Perfect for work or play, this will instantly add polish to any outfit.

The tough-luxe look from our Walk this Way campaign combines two very strong stylistic elements – edge with luxury – how can we avoid overdoing the trend?
This season it is all about grown up edge. Edgier styles should be paired back with more minimal styles in luxe fabrics, it’s not about looking punk rock. Think French women on the streets of Paris. They style luxury in a cool way that always has a bit of edge; they always look so effortless like they just woke up like that – it’s not about trying too hard. Don’t overdo it with other accessories, let your shoes speak for themselves.

How can we transition from a day to night outfit with this trend?
As the nights get cooler, a statement shoe is the perfect piece to transform an outfit for night. A killer studded heel worn back with a black jean, cool tee and a leather jacket will instantly work for night, especially when it feels too cold for a mini dress.

Over-the-knee boots are back this winter and bigger than ever! What are your do’s and don’ts for wearing this style?
The over-the-knee boot is all about strong sexiness. It’s important to show some skin by pairing it back with a mini dress or skirt, but avoiding skin-tight styles. Balance out this strong statement piece by playing with layers and structure up top and using a belt to cinch in your waist for the right amount of sexiness.
