AW/21: Models off-duty

Established. tells a story of self-discovery and finding the essential elements that empower you to express yourself. Today we’re speaking to the two talented models featured in the campaign, to find out more about their experiences with Australian fashion and how this has defined their personal style.

MEET CIENAWittner has been around for 108 years so, in comparison, you’re relatively new on the Australian fashion scene! What started your journey into modelling and what is it that you love about it?

I always wanted to be a part of this industry in some shape or form. I loved the creativity that can be expressed through fashion, how much of yourself you can present through how you dress alone. I loved the power women exuded on the catwalk and in camera. I was scouted by my current agency and I’ve been with them since, it’s been so incredibly wonderful, I love modelling.

Australian fashion has its own unique look and feel. As a model who is so involved in the industry, what do you feel “makes” Australian style?

I think living in Melbourne and working with different brands really shows me how versatile you can be. There is such a huge range of styles, even the different ways you can wear a garment baffle me sometimes. Even just with black you can be so versatile, it never gets old! I really do appreciate the ability to express yourself in a plethora of ways here in Melbourne.

And how do you define your authentic style? What makes you feel like you?

This is a tricky question because my style entirely depends on my mood. 9 times out of 10 I’ve got glitter or adhesive rhinestones on my face, platform boots, a bedazzled glam outfit of some kind, more is more. I find myself switching between traditionally masc styles and traditionally fem styles a lot these days, it’s fun to experiment and see how blurred I can get the line sometimes. The day of the AutumnWittner/21 shoot went by in a flash — were there any particular moments that were a highlight for you?

The drone was so much fun, and to be perfectly honest – having such a lovely and professional team made the day feel so much easier. Also having chocolate for breakfast was pretty cheeky, can’t say I didn’t enjoy it.

Which looks resonated the most with you? Were there any shoes that you fell in love with on the day?

I was o b s e s s e d with the pink shoes Franny wore, as well as the purple boots, huge Daphne from Scooby-Doo energy. The blue dress made me feel like a forest fairy and it made me feel like a kid again, which you must do from time to time, I think.  Then there was the suit, the loafers & the waistcoat which was an awakening for me because I did not expect waistcoats to be so cute.

How do you envision your perfect winter’s day? From the look to the location!

My favourite kind of winter day is when the air is crisp but the sun is out, so you can those moments of heat on your skin, it feels like little kisses from the sun. I like going by the river or somewhere with water on those day’s because the scenery is just so beautiful, and then I come home for a warm drink and a curl up in the couch. I’d be in lots of jumps and boots for these days, I get cold so easily!

MEET FRANNYWittner has been around for 108 years so, in comparison, you’re relatively new on the Australian fashion scene! What started your journey into modelling and what is it that you love about it?

My journey into modelling started when I was doing a photoshoot for an independent brand and from there Precision Management reached out. I love modelling because it allows me to be a more confident version of myself but to also express my love for creativity.

Australian fashion has its own unique look and feel. As a model who is so involved in the industry, what do you feel “makes” Australian style?

That it’s diverse. Everyone has a different style and every style is appreciated.

And how do you define your authentic style? What makes you feel like you?

I would define my style as oversized, simple but unique. I find most of my clothing from vintage stores. What makes me feel like most me is my light blue extra baggy jeans. The day of the AutumnWittner/21 shoot went by in a flash — were there any particular moments that were a highlight for you?

Working with the beautiful team but also playing with the v8 camera and the drone!

Which looks resonated the most with you? Were there any shoes that you fell in love with on the day?

I loved the purple knee-high boots Ciena wore and the snake print boots I wore.
